Thank you Ms Dana!

We have had several visitors since we have been home. Yesterday Ms. Dana brought us a gift yesterday! Ema LOVES to open presents so she was a happy camper! Thank you Naifeh family for the adorable Christmas PJ's.

What did we do before Ema?

Life will never be same! Kirk and I have already asked each other the famous question: What did we do before Ema? Our house was quite, we had a routine, we got a normal hours worth of sleep. Everything has changed. Ema is still struggling with Tennessee time. She finds herself being the happiest little girl at 2:30 AM every morning. She sits up in bed and wants to play! Very frustrating for mommy and daddy! We try to keep her busy during the day hoping that she will sleep like she did in Vietnam but that has yet to be accomplished.

Home sweet Home

Finally we are home and are gradually getting settled in. Ema had a warm welcome when we arrived at the airport in Memphis. My parents, Kirk's parents, nanny and pawpaw, Uncle Hank, and Aunt Sonya were there. Ema was a little overwhelmed and exhausted so being sociable was not on her agenda. She was asleep by the time we left the airport. Our trip to Vietnam was truely a trip of a lifetime. We will never forget the people there and how nice everyone was to us. While we are so glad to be home, we feel like we left some of our family there. Trinh, we know you are reading this....We love you so much and hope that when you come to the USA that you look us up!! You made our stay in Vietnam so much more comfortable and we will always think of you as part of our family. Henry....you gave us the greatest gift that we could have ever asked for. Ema is blessed to be raised in the USA but we are more blessed to have her as our dughter. We cannot imagine what our life was like without Ema. Her smile is contagious and her happy spirit fills our home with joy!

Splish Splash

Ema hates taking a bath. In Vietnam, I would take a bath with her but I said once home things would change. She took her first bath on Sunday night and she screamed the entire time. She hated it but once finished, she smelled soooo good!

Just killing time...

At this moment I am sitting in the lobby of our hotel waiting to freshen up so that we can go to the airport and get on a plane to take us home. To say that sounds so good. Kirk and I have been talking all day about how quite our street will be. I have always heard that New York is the city that never sleeps but I swear that it has nothing on Vietnam. There is never a quite moment here. Beeping horns, tons of traffic, scooters everywhere. We have enjoyed our stay here so much and everyone here has been so nice. We checked out of our hotel at 12:00 from then on we walked and walked and walked. Here are some pictures from today.

The first hotel we stayed at in Vietnam is the Hanoi Elegance 4. We got kinda attached to these people so today we stopped to let Ema tell them goodbye. They were so nice to us and always tried to make us feel at home.


We really enjoyed going to Highlands. The girls there loved Ema. We enjoyed going there and just relaxing. Today Ema decided she would walk and play with daddy.
